Do you know that just a few steps from Lyon-Perrache railway station lies a little gem of Art Nouveau architecture? This treasure, which has been welcoming travellers since 1906 is Mercure Lyon Centre Château Perrache hotel.
Entirely renovated in 2015, it now boasts woodwork and stained glass windows, and trendy designer style furniture.
Fancy a foray into this unusual setting, to enjoy a drink in an atmosphere evocative of the roaring 20s? Head for the 12.2 Bar Lounge to meet up with friends or a loved one.
The drinks menu includes cocktails, whiskies and other spirits (all of which must be enjoyed with moderation, of course) as well as all you need to enjoy a gourmet meal thanks to the bistronomic cuisine of chef Sébastien Ponsot.
So where do you want to sit? Would you rather rest your elbows on the magnificent wooden bar, or sit in a comfortable armchair beneath the ornate foliage motif on the ceiling, or perhaps on the bench seat in front of the strained glass peacock? I've made my choice! Bon appétit!
