The Radisson hotel group has announced its acquisition of the hotel Cour des Loges, a gem of Renaissance architecture located in Lyon’s old town (Vieux Lyon), a historic district listed as UNESCO World Heritage. This latest acquisition by the PRINCIPAL HOTEL REAL ESTATE FUND brings the number of hotels belonging to the group to 19, representing a total of 3280 rooms.
In the second half of 2021, Cour des Loges will be renovated to reflect the Radisson brand, while preserving the building’s character and historic value. The planned renovation will position the hotel as one of the destination’s finest establishments, for both business and private customers..
The sixty rooms, including two junior suites and four suites, will be given a totally new look. The hotel’s guests will be able to enjoy well-being activities with a fitness centre and spa, pool, Hammam sauna and Jacuzzi, as well as a relaxation room and two treatment rooms. A 343 m² meeting area, divided into six meeting rooms, will also be provided for business guests.
In keeping with Lyon’s reputation for gastronomy, the hotel is hiring Michelin-starred Chef Anthony Bonnet. He cut his teeth working alongside leading, multi-award-winning figures on Lyon’s food scene. He will give local produce pride of place in the cuisine served by the restaurant ‘Les Loges’. The ‘Café Epicerie’, as well as the bar and cigar room, complete the culinary experience. Cookery classes will also be held at ‘La Petite Loge’.
