The auction house will make way for a 500-seater restaurant, set to open in May 2023, in this historic building.
The huge and magnificent auction house, with its gilded mouldings, located in the former railway station’s waiting hall, will be leased by Aguttes to the Parisian company Paris Society owned by Laurent de Gourcuff.
This 45-year-old Parisian entrepreneur runs a small restaurant empire, which includes a number of well-known restaurants in the French capital, such as Apicius and Perruche, on the rooftop of the department store Printemps Haussmann, as well as the R2 rooftop restaurant in Marseille, and twenty or so other establishments.
This new acquisition in Lyon will have a 500-seater dining room and an evocative name: Coco Lyon. Laurent de Gourcuff’s aim is to offer diners charming, characterful cuisine in a history-filled setting.
