Immersive experience
Michelin-starred cuisine and traditional home cooking, prevention and health, and education in the pleasures of ‘healthy eating’, the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie is the latest jewel in Lyon’s gastronomic crown. With an innovative approach, it offers a truly educational experience at the heart of the Grand-Hôtel Dieu.
Five exhibition spaces, spread over 4,000 m2, explore the history of gastronomy in Lyon, France’s contribution to the world of
gastronomy, and the nutritional issues of the future. This new cultural icon fits perfectly into a strategy to help people make necessary changes to their eating habits and, at the same time, showcases the history and heritage for which Lyon is world-renowned.
The biggest names in gastronomy are also involved in the Cité’s activities. The kitchen, at the top of the Quatre Rangs dome, is run by a permanent team and welcomes chefs from around the world to share their culinary secrets.
The permanent exhibition is complementing by a programme of events. The first of these, “Revisiting Arcimboldo”, will run from December 2019 to May 2020. In keeping with its outward-looking ethos, the CIG will regularly welcome invited guest
countries, starting with Japan in Autumn 2020.
Available for private booking every day except
Saturday. Tailor-made packages for between
10 and 500 people. Seated dinners for up to
80 people in the dome.
