A great museum at the confluence of rivers and knowledge...
It is one of the latest great contemporary museums which alone are enough to justify a trip to Lyon.
So of course, you wouldn't miss this visit for anything!

Musée des Confluences
86 quai Perrache - 69002 Lyon 2ème
With the Confluence Museum, Lyon and the Rhône area have a superb combined museum site focusing on science, art and societies. Located at the
confluence of the rivers Rhône and Saône, this building designed by the Austrian agency Coop Himmelb(l)au, is divided between the “Nuage” and “Cristal” areas, representing the “here and now” and the “what could be”.
Your congresses, meetings, conferences and receptions can be held in a museum featuring a unique architectural style. Includes two auditoriums with sound and video control rooms, four committee rooms and a meeting room with
access to the terrace. Among the numerous high-quality services offered by the site we should mention: on-site restaurants, a panoramic terrace, technical
equipment adapted to your needs (video-projector, Internet, sound and video control room, etc.). Located at the confluence point, in two hectares of landscaped grounds, the Confluence Museum (Musée des Confluences) is easily accessible from the city centre and from the Lyon Perrache or Lyon Part-Dieu railway stations. As the fitting heir to Lyon’s Natural History Museum, the Confluence Museum aims to describe and to raise awareness of the development, hopes and concerns of human societies from different times and different places. The Museum presents the story of the earth itself from its earliest days and humanity through its history and geography, a source of curiosity, emotion and joy as we seek to fully understand and appreciate the infinite richness of the planet’s countries and civilisations. With a total surface area of 22,000 m², this institution will be proposing four permanent exhibition areas covering 3,300 m², special areas devoted to temporary exhibitions and workshops in addition to digital and experimental areas, not forgetting the various on-site services including: a selfservice restaurant, a restaurant with terrace, and a bookshop.
