Fine lodgings - N°8

Different styles, but always quality and originality!

Axotel Lyon Perrache ***

Pink is the new chic !

Located just a stone’s throw from the Confluence district, Axotel is one of those independent hotels that is defined by its character.

As soon as you see the building with its huge fresco (wall paintings are one of Lyon’s specialities) on one corner, which uses the architectural structure to create a comic book, you know that this is somewhere unique.

Then, you step into the new lobby with its soft pink decorative scheme. We know what you’re thinking. It’s not sickly sweet though. It’s simply chic. Redesigned for the comfort of its guests and quality of its welcome, it echoes the word so beloved to hotelkeepers everywhere: "welcome"!

Away Hostel & Coffee Shop

A refreshing break
With its modern approach, Away Hostel & Coffee Shop adds to Lyon’s range of alternative accommodation.

Following in the footsteps of hotel concepts created by and for millennials, Away cannot really be described as a ‘youth hostel’. The atmosphere is certainly lively and fun, but the quality of the stylishly designed interior – in a magnificent 19th century building – attracts all types of tourists, hailing from all over the world. The French love of food has certainly not been neglected either, with a dining area and coffee shop open to locals in a stylish setting.

You’ll even find meeting rooms and a co-working area.

Hôtel Silky ****

Luxurious cocoon
Located next door to the famous Café des Négociants, as soon as you step through the door of the boutique-hotel Silky you are plunged into the history of the great textile trading companies.

The interior blends notes of natural wood, industrial and vintage furniture, and reclaimed objects. The 46 rooms, with their «revisited bourgeois» spirit, are spread over six floors, and feature tones ranging from mossgreen to warm blue. All have a retro-style bathroom with a graphic marble floor and generously-sized 1930s wash basins.

This is a hotel with plenty of personality, and it’s well worth being here during the Happy Time (6 to 8 pm), which offers a chance to discover local charcuterie, cheese and wine.

Radisson Blu Lyon

Get close to the stars…

Bright, understated and refined: three watchwords for the new atmosphere of the Radisson Blu hotel (which reopened on the 1st of October).

On the 32nd floor, an atrium bathed in light from above is home to a number of lounge corners, where guests can enjoy snacks prepared by a mobile catering service.

This floor is also home to the elegant and chic atmosphere of the Célest bar and restaurant (154 seats). Take in the 360° panoramic view and the French cuisine enhanced with exotic notes prepared by Chef Bruno Vitrac. A "business premium" offering, with 500 m2 of modular space available for private hire (dividable into 11 lounges), makes this the new venue in town!
