It’s now only a short hop across the channel from the centre of Lyon to the centre of London.

There are five return trips per week to travel directly from London St Pancras to Lyon Part-Dieu in a few hours. The journey takes 4 hrs 41 mins from London and 5 hrs 47 mins in the other direction, with a stop in Lille for security and passport controls.

This alternative to taking the plane is increasingly popular with business travellers looking for a truly comfortable option. WiFi is available throughout the train, for the entire journey.

Elsewhere, as environmental impacts are now an important factor to take into consideration, the carbon footprint of high-speed train travel is far from that of air travel. This is a winning combination that promises further development of relations between our two cities.

It should be noted that, after Paris, Lyon is the European city with the most high-speed rail links to other European cities.

Lyon, which already has links to Brussels, Frankfurt and Barcelona, is currently strengthening its direct rail links with London and Milan, and will soon be connected with Luxembourg.

All of these major rail links are accessible from Lyon Part-Dieu station.
